It was a good start to the documentary project!
All of the actors seemed to not mind the camera as I was switching locations. I got a couple of unguarded moments.
All in all it IS like gold mining. You shoot lots and lots of footage for a documentary and mine the storylines whereas in filmmaking you have a story in front of you and then efficiently shoot as few takes as possible to get what you need to edit that story together.
There is no deadline for this documentary. No set ending either. I have no idea when to stop the film rolling so it will just go until something natural happens that would make a good ending point.
This is going to be an exciting journey!
