Wallow For Health

There are usually two types of people in the world, different people break them down into different categories, for example I recently had a friend tell me that there were cell phone people and Ipod people. The cell phone people crave being connected all the time while the Ipod people were more solitary.

Tarantino via Pulp Fiction said there were Elvis people and Beatles people, a friend at work said there were people who wanted to have sex with Pam Anderson and those that lied about wanting to have sex with Pammy.

Well I guess my two types are those who love misery and those that love happiness. Now here is the weird part, EVERYONE wants to be happy! It is just that those who love misery are happy when they are unhappy, they kind of have their directions backwards.

They aren't sure how to be happy, maybe because no one has told them or taught them what happiness is and how to do it? Those who love happiness will wallow in a tough time but it is always temporary and short lived and then they are better for it. They see it as a natural part of the healing process and will soon look to get back up again and carry on, better than ever.

Those that love misery are happy as well but they are only comfortable with feelings that tend to hurt them. They will self destruct their jobs, relationships, finances, whatever it is that they can mess up to get those feelings of unhappiness back, that is what they do to feel misery or in their world happiness.

They don't realize that it is a cycle and that their definitions are messed up but somehow they manage it every time. Ever see someone go through many girlfriends and still not be happy even though they had some really nice, kind and sweet ones? And yet they manage to drive them all away.

So cheer up, if you are a happiness lover or a misery lover, well you are still happy, right?

Second Draft

Here is the link to the second version of the cast read through up on You Tube.

There are a couple of minor edits to help it along and smooth it a bit but overall the same version.

Cast Read Through Day

I edited and posted a video of the script read through for the full cast last night. It is funny:)
I'm going to trim a couple of places and see what I can add in but for now here is the link to see it, I hope you enjoy it right now:) We had a LOT of fun that day and I hope the video shows that feeling!

The link will probably change soon when I do a couple of additions and subtractions but I'll repost the link then as well:)

It is pouring rain out! I mowed most of my lawn last night, the big part but I didn't mow around the pool in the back yet. I don't know if I'm going to get to tonight or not, we'll see!

Have a great day my friends!!!!

That Was A Good Weekend!

Four whole days to do whatever I wished. Four whole days to not really mow my yard, that was nice:)

Yeppers, everything is good and getting better! I got groceries yesterday, picked up the Fanfilm read through tape and plan on editing it this week and posting it on You Tube. I posted another episode by the way as well.

It would be great if anyone who watched it would follow the advice:) I honestly think you can make a difference to someone by doing so. It might not be big but it could be big enough, especially if they do the same. So go ahead, change the world, you deserve to feel good too!!!!

Memorial Day

Keep in mind that today is Memorial Day.

Today we honor the heroes who have died protecting our freedoms that we take for granted.

Today we honor the men and women who have fallen in defense of this country.
This country, America, is the beacon of hope and freedom for the entire world. The one standard that others world wide, look to who crave freedom from oppressive governments.

Our country is the greatest country in the history of the world because people are willing to sacrifice their all to defend it and what it represents.

Every country has its heroes but our heroes are the only ones who will die to buy the freedom of another country and its people.

A Great Race Day

Yesterday I went to a Memorial Day cookout/pool party. Had a great time with a lot of my Gaslight friends! Lots of just hanging out and talking while enjoying the fine weather!

Went to Beersnob's house afterwards to watch Episode III and IV of Star Wars (I and II were last night) and then came home. It has been a great weekend so far but today, if you are a racing fan, is one of the best days of the season.

You get the Indy 500 (alright but not great) and then you get the longest race of the NASCAR year, the Coca Cola 600!!!! Now that race is one of the best, it is on a fast track in Charlotte and is a marathon race in length. The 600 is the longest race of the year. A race of attrition where the fastest car doesn't always win. It is usually the engine that holds together for 600 miles.

So you have forty three cars hitting around one hundred eighty miles per hour on the same track for six hundred miles. It is a marathon race as I said but it is also one of the more exciting races since there will be many lead changes and lots of tight, close racing. One car just won't dominate this race. There will be lots of engine failures, especially during that last one hundred miles where races just don't go.

That last hundred miles is probably the equivalent of NFL over time. Very exciting, very intense!

You would be doing yourself a favor if you have even a tiny interest in racing at all to watch this race. You'll be happy you did!

Rosie Is Gone

The rotund and volatile Rosie is now gone for the time being from day time TV.

Her contract was up in a few weeks I believe but after a fight with one of her co-hosts she was let go early. Rosie caused nothing but trouble on the show and was a massive headache for Barbara Walters.

Since she was hired Rosie has accused our soldiers of being terrorists, said 9-11 was an inside job orchestrated by the government and has real problems with playing nice with others. She might have self esteem problems, she might have some serious mental health issues, I don't know but I do know she is gone.

Rosie is mean spirited, abrasive, arrogant, and seems to live to cause problems. In fact here is a link that documents many stories of her controversial exploits on The View. She gets ratings though. I'll give her that for sure.

Rosie O'Donnell will wind up with a new show. She will get some big dollars to do it and she will be as controversial as ever. She will say something bombastic, loony, and offensive. She will probably get suspended, maybe fired but she will be a headache for years to come.

Enjoy this brief respite from the insanity that is Rosie. It probably won't last long.

May 25, 1977

The day that changed the world and innovated, if not created a massive industry.

Star Wars was released to theaters and everything changed. Yeah perhaps Jaws was the first summer blockbuster but Star Wars took that success and built upon it, no not built upon it, put it on top of a rocket and launched it into a level so high that it might not ever be seen again.

There have been movies and franchises that have come close. If you look at what three movies did all by themselves, soundtrack sales, inventing a toy industry, books, shirts, posters, spinoffs, and all of the intangible things such as dreams, kids wanting to fly a X-Wing or have a lightsaber, have a Wookie as a new best friend. The list goes on.

Fast forward to today when you can put some money into a PC, camera, software, and a few friends and you can make your own Star Wars fanfilm. You can literally fight with a lightsaber now, you can fly an X-Wing, and you can have a Wookie as a best friend.

Look at how good Lord of the Rings and The Matrix did at the box office, do you see the playsets, marketing tie ins, Lord of the Rings glasses at McDonald's on the scale that you did with Star Wars? Take Spiderman for instance, do you see anything resembling that kind of exposure? No, despite the massive amounts of money that franchise has pulled in it hasn't reached the level of fan intensity that Star Wars has.

George Lucas captured lightning on 35mm and changed the landscape of films forever. Yes episode I,II,and III were weak compared to IV, V, and VI. There were many inconsistencies, almost as if they forgot which movies came first and what happened in them, it is frustrating but I guess that GL could do as he wished since he created the movies even to the dismay of the fans.
Star Wars was the innovator, the Galaxy far far away where you wanted to live and join The Rebellion and oppose the Dark Side.

Thirty years ago pop culture changed forever and opened its own Star Wars wing in America's history.

May The Force Be With You!

A Four Day Weekend!!!!

Yes it is a four day weekend! Those are always good!

Last night I went out with Sass for a couple of drinks at Callahan's and then went to another place to watch karaoke. Sass's brother showed up as well and has a script for me to read over and see about filming it.

There was an internet outage since last night and it just came back up. I just warmed up some left over lasagna for breakfast and have made out the monthly bills. It is a nice day out and I still have many errands to run today.

I am thinking about going to see Pirates 3 today. That looks amazing! I can't wait for this one, I am hoping that it won't be another Spiderman 3 disappointment. I don't think it will be, the last two have been incredible!

Its going to be a good weekend!

You Tube Project!!!!

The time has finally arrived to put the You Tube project on my blog. I've come up with a satisfying conclusion (maybe) and that was the point I had in my mind when I wanted to release it to my friends and long time readers.

I have to remind you, especially those of you who know me well, this is fiction. This is a character I invented and since I couldn't find an actor to play the part as often as I wished, I had to do it myself. I wish I had the skill and ease of being on camera that Beersnob, Chianti, and Weezy had but I simply don't and I'm not very photogenic.

I also have to remind you I'm not an actor and frequently found myself stumbling over lines and that is just the stuff that made it to You Tube, you should see all the times I turned the camera off and started over!!!!

There is also a new direction that can be explored with this character now and that is where the hope lies with this story.

So without further delay I now give you the link

I hope you find a modicum of enjoyment in this project!!!!

Fun With Squidbilly Words

Take a common word such as Drink and add ification, ify, or ulate to it and all of a sudden you are the life of the party! This works for a great many words for comic effect such as Caffeine as well if you aren't a drinker. Use your imagination and have fun with it!!!!

I've watched too many Squidbillies episodes lately. I have them on my Ipod and it is a show about some backwoods hillbilly squids on Adult Swim. Hilarious if you enjoy stereotype humor!!!! Yes it can be offensive as well so watch at your own risk.

Early Cuyler is the main squid and essentially fights, gets drunk, gets arrested, and is the life of the show. Rusty is his illegitimate son who usually takes the brunt of Early's abuse, Granny and Lil' round out the cast.

Think the Anti-Beverly Hillbillies.

The Ipod experiment has been a resounding success, my days at work have seemingly flown by. It is just a blast to have around you to provide a much needed escape from the tedious nature of my job. I've got just over three thousand audio files and just over two hundred video files and I still have around twenty gigs free!!!!

I love technology!!!!

Bizarre Dreams

Again I've had some weird dreams. The other night I had a dream about my very first friend. We lived next to each other and she was really cool, a tomboy and about a year older. It was 75-76, around in that time.

I lived there until about 81 before moving here.

Anyway I don't remember what I was dreaming about other than it was about her. It woke me up though at 2:30 in the morning. So last night I did a couple of searches and couldn't find out anything about her, a couple more searches and that yielded her phone number. So I called and she hadn't made it home from work yet but I talked to her mom and she remembered me and we chatted for a few minutes.

It was really nice and I left my phone number for her to call me back sometime.
It just felt like I should call after such a dream.

Weird huh?

Sass and I made plans to meet for a drink after work. Time is precious now that she is moving away soon. Another drinking partner bites the proverbial dust.

Screech Is An Idiot

He has nothing but excuses and just wants to be a pain for who knows what reason. He gained five pounds while everyone else met or exceeded their target weights.

Then he threatened the little host guy and then the drill sergeant guy jumps up to defend the little guy which is admirable. Then Screech gets all super defensive and everyone else leaves as they just want nothing to do with the drama.

I can't see this guy being that same kind of guy when the camera is off. There is just no one out there that can argue with you if you told him the Sun comes up in the East every morning. He would argue with you about it with logic and reason all the while knowing better.

He is an idiot. I am hoping someone just goes off on him and gives him a beat down. I'd pay to give him a beat down! Pay a buck and get to take a punch at Screech, yeah I'd do that! He'll probably parlay this into a VH1 show after Celebrity Fit Club is over with.

The Charm School girls, oh man....I don't understand how some of these people are capable of getting out of bed in the mornings without getting lost!!!!

Some of these women are evil, really evil. They are so clueless and self absorbed. I really, honestly don't understand, they have no regard for anyone or anything around them. They are just in this little Paris Hilton bubble that has the world revolving around them and them alone.

Yes I understand it is a competition and that this is the kind of material that has the producers doing the happy dance but come on, is this the best you could find or just the best example of self absorbed people with unstable personalities?

How Do You LIke Your Steak?

I'm watching one of my favorite channels, The Food Network and they are having a steak cooking challenge.

They are grilling black angus rib eye steaks. I have heard them repeatedly say, "Never overcook your steak", whatever.....

Anyone who knows me and has heard me order a steak before knows I'll tell the waiter or waitress to burn my steak. I like a well done steak. No I LOVE a well done steak. I like the charring. I like the flavor. To me that is what a steak should be. It is what tastes good but I'm probably in the minority.

Not medium well, not rare, not anything in between. Well done is the best tasting grilled steak you can get IHMO.

I can cook them anyway though. I can cook a steak to order and I don't mind saying I'm good at it. Love grilling and this is the grilling season!!!!

I'm probably going to have to get a new grill this season. I've been using the small portable grills but the ones I usually buy last about one season before they burn out. So I'm looking at the Weber Q grill series for something that will last much longer and has a bigger cooking area.

So have a steak cooked the way you want next time you order one, don't let other people influence your decision, they aren't you and only you know how you like your steak!

Guess What?!?!?!

I'm watching at this very moment THE Monday Night Football game from 1985 between the legendary 85 Bears and the Dolphins!!!!
Everyone knows the story of how the undefeated Bears on a balmy Monday night, went into Miami looking for an easy roll over victory, ran into a very determined Marino's Dolphin team that was intent on ruining the perfect season.

Frank Gifford, Joe Namath, and OJ Simpson host this game. It makes for some interesting commentary in the booth. Namath seems sober, Simpson is the Simpson of old, the premurdering Simpson, the happy go lucky affable guy. Gifford is always the class act.

This is a great game. Marino is at the top of his game even though he has 19 TDs vs. 17 INTs, he lead the NFL with over 3,500 yards. It is great to see the Payton Suhey combo on the Bears side just run wild and to see the famous Bears defense take on the powerhouse Miami offense!!!!

Can you say Football Heaven?!?!?! I can!!!!

I'm caffeinicating myself right now, want to wake up. Not much on the agenda today, I have to do laundry, have to get some food in a bit since I'm out here at home except for some ice cream. While I'm not opposed to ice cream for breakfast, I am craving something a bit more salty like bacon and eggs.

Enjoy your day my friends!!!!

A Good Meeting!!!!

It was very constructive as we talked over character development, background story, and technical matters.

Everyone was really into it and asked some great questions! Arrangements were made between actors who have key scenes with each other to get together and develop their scenes more fully between themselves. To explore their character's chemistry against the background of the story and the context of what is transpiring between them.

Preparation and the willingness on the actor's part to go the extra mile during the preproduction stage is going to show on screen. A better cast could not be asked for as everyone is professional and delivers more than asked or required. They want to be prepared and want rehearsal time to better do their jobs.

They are the best and this project is genuinely fortunate to have them all aboard.

My Name Is Earl Season Two

I just watched the second season of this wonderful show.

For you long time readers you will probably recall my review of the first season. I enjoy this show immensely. It is hilarious and I frequently found myself laughing out loud at parts. The brilliant writing, inspired message, and excellent acting form the perfect storm of comedy. (how is that for reference humor?)

Even more than that there is a overall positive message that people can change for the good. That they can make up for the bad with good. The bad part though is that I watched it so fast that now I have a long wait until the show starts back up again and go through its full run so I can watch it!!!!

Great show, give it a shot!

Yeah I know my reviews are lacking, I am just very aware of spoilers as I've stated many times and as such I'd rather give not enough information than too much adn take away the pleasure of a show.

This week at work was surprisingly busy. The Ipod experiment is working beautifully! I am able to pass the time very quickly and boredom is a mere memory!

Today at noon as I mentioned previously there is a cast meeting. I'll report back later and let you all in on the details!

A Fun Time!!!!

As it always is when you get to hang out with a friend over a drink:)

It is always fun and enjoyable!!!! I have a bit of a hangover this morning though but it'll be gone in a bit. I just didn't drink enough water after getting home. No headache just a bit drained.

Its Friday! Tomorrow we have a cast meeting at a local coffee shop for the main cast members! I'm excited about that!!!!

So now I just have to say WOOOOOOOHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Its FRIDAY!!!!

Have a great weekend my friends!!!!

Drinks With Sass Tonight!!!!

Yes my friends tonight our pub has a live band consisting of two guys and the energy is really fun and exciting!

Sass and I are going to meet around 7ish and I'm trying to get another friend to join us but I don't think she will. She is stuck in a rut like I used to be and it is tough to get someone in a rut out of a rut, especially when they believe they are in a rut but don't want to get out. I've tried for the last couple of weeks to get her to just get out of the house for a hour or so to join me for coffee even.

She has her two children at home and her mom works and her dad isn't feeling well lately so it is tough. But it is healthy to get out a bit and enjoy your environment. To spend some time with people your own age. Even though she is a lightweight drinker and I'm desperate for a drinking companion this isn't about drinking. It is just about experiencing a different environment for awhile.

Breaking your routine, even if it feels uncomfortable at first. When I did my rut breaking it was uncomfortable but I felt a lot better afterwards, still do. Things have gotten progressively better in so many areas!

I hope she shows up but even if she doesn't Sass will!!!! She is a great drinking companion and can hold her own with nearly anyone I know. The conversation is always fun, interesting, and lively and if anyone reading this cares to show up, you know where I'm talking about so feel free to be there around 7ish!!!!

The first round is on me!!!!

20 Years....

This July it will be twenty years since Guns N Roses Appetite For Destruction was released. Can you believe that?

One of the most influential albums of all time. It took 80's metal and gave it a razor sharp edge and steered it away from the glam band sound. Twenty years later and Welcome to the Jungle is still well played, you can hear it during football games, and clips here and there.

It is amazing too, every song on that album was solid, you can listen to it all day and not get bored with it. There are a few albums for me that I can do that with but Appetite is one of the top five, easy.

Metallica Master of Puppets. Astounding album that really started to separate Metallica from the thrash metal bands and put them into their own category that Megadeth seemed haunted by even though they achieved some level of fame on their own, never at Metallica's level.

Guns was too good to last though, after Lies, and Use Your Illusion I and II they pretty much self destructed as the band lineup underwent and is still undergoing numerous additions and subtractions. They will never be the same and they will never recapture that lightning in a bottle, the magic they once had that made them the top band in the world at the time.

Twenty years ago.....man I'm feeling really old right now.

Jerry Falwell And David Allan Coe

Never thought you'd see those two in the same place together but hey this is my blog and I can put them there if I want to.

First off Reverend Jerry Falwell died today. He was a polarizing figure, even among Christians but he was a genuinely good guy who wasn't afraid to take his beliefs and share them with anyone. He united a large portion of America and gave them a political voice in a time when a large part of America felt they didn't have a voice. He was 73 and he did a lot of good for a lot of people. Rest in peace Reverend.

Today my Netflix selection is David Allan Coe live at Billy Bob's!!!! DAC is also a very polarizing figure who has written over two hundred songs I believe that have been recorded by Waylon, Johnny Cash, Elvis, Pantera, Willie Nelson, and a dozen other stars.

He is largely overlooked for his contributions to country/outlaw music and revels in that fact. He'll never be recognized for being one of the most influential singer songwriters of all time. You can just google his name and see why. His infamous XXX album will give you an idea of how his career started.

A lot of DAC is myth, a lot is fact, only he knows for sure what is real and what isn't.

Is he a racist? Don't know, he has a black drummer and a guitar with the Stars and Bars colors on it. You make the call.

Has he been in prison as he claims? Don't know, he swears up and down he has but there are no official records of it.

Is he a legend? Yes, in a way. He is an underground legend in the vein of the Ramones or the Sex Pistols. He is punk, he is an outlaw, he is controversial, and he is one of country music's biggest enigmas. He is a workaholic but you'll never see him at the CMAs or the Grammy's even though he has probably written songs for the winners.

The Drive

Finally I found a video converter that got the Drive game right so I was able to load it up on my Ipod. I converted it twice with another converter but Itunes would not load it onto my Ipod. So after a couple of minutes of searching I found another program.

With joy and happiness I was thrilled when it converted the game and loaded into Itunes. Then I synced the Ipod and BAM!!!! The Drive was there, waiting for me to watch it!

The great duel between Elway and Kosar for the AFC Championship!!!!

What an incredible game it was too! Cold, windy, and just the right setting for one of the most talked about feats in the NFL. An Elway comback!

Tonight there is a Storm game, we take on the Brooklyn Kings. Always a good game when the Kings come to town. It is sprinkling a little outside right now. Nice and cool.

Looks like it is going to be a really good day!!!!

Another Win!!!!

After the last second loss to the Cagerz on Friday night we blew them out last night!!!!

It was a good game for about the first quarter and then we just took over and controlled them the whole way. We have one more home game Tuesday and then they go on a four week road trip. Yeah, a long one.

It is early in the morning and I'm watching the very first episode of Monday Night Football! The Jets vs. The Browns from 1970! Complete with commercials and halftime! The magic of torrents and people who love football! Man I love the net!

You can find it at Ten Yard Torrents if you are interested in finding incredible games like this for yourself!

Next week Screech has his big Fit Club meltdown. That is the episode where he is banned from show. Can't wait!

Have a great week everyone!!!!

Happy Mother's Day

To everyone out there who it applies to! Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!!!
Call your mom, alright?

Been pretty quiet around here. The race was rained out last night so now it'll be on at noon today. Darlington, the track too tough to tame. A shame too, it would have been a night race which are a lot of fun to watch over an afternoon race.

Not much on the tube. I'm getting close to wrapping up the You Tube project with the event that I have been planning. The time just isn't right yet and I'm still fermenting a couple of ideas on the best way to approach the last episode. When I finish it I'll post the link here so everyone can finally see it.

The History Channel has been endlessly promoting Hippies for tonight. I have to confess I'm not a fan of hippies. The movement from the late 60's, the neohippies that you can see around schools today, the socialist ideals, the allergic reaction to soap and bathing......blech......

Not a fan, I'm more Eric Cartman than Abbie Hoffman regarding the hippie culture. Just had some pizza for breakfast. I'm craving some ice cream right now.....mmmmmmmm.....Ben and Jerry's. Yeah I know the irony there considering my previous few sentences but those two guys, politics aside, make some of the best ice cream ever!!!!

Guess something good did come out of the hippie culture!!!!

What Do You Want?

You know it seems like a real easy question doesn't it and most people can answer it without even thinking about it. The problem is that what they want, myself included, is that what I think I want is usually something that leads to something else and something after that, whatever it is at the core of what you really want.

I've been thinking a lot lately about what I want and I started by thinking about what I don't want. Well that is easy to figure out. Everyone can tell you exactly what they don't want, down to the final letter.

The thing is that you have a core desire, everyone does. What they do is that they try to figure out how to get what they really want and it turns into a long chain to get there. A to Z, first I have to do A to get to B etc. Over time you just forget what it is that you really want.

Every thing you want has an emotional attachment to it. You want A so you can feel B which you might be missing. It nearly always leads to happiness. There are some weird freaks out there who are only happy when they are unhappy. Even then their end result is happiness. Freaky huh?

They will do things to sabotage themselves so they can bring about the circumstances that will make them unhappy that will conversely make them happy.

Most people think a large amount of money will make them happy when in reality it is only a way to bring about what you desire. Freedom, security, things that are intangible but things that we desire. Money is a means to an end....a feeling we crave, not much more.

Be happy now. Cut right to the chase. You'll feel better.

We Won!!!!

With four seconds left in the game we hit a three pointer at the top of the key to beat Dodge City 97-95!!!!

That'll teach me for leaving early!!!!

Friday Friday!!!!

Had a Storm game last night, have one tonight too. Last night we lost (I think) to the Legend. I left with 54 seconds left because I was meeting some friends at Callahan's. We were down by 5 though and the Legend had the ball. Not a good sign for our team.

Tonight we play the Cagerz. We should beat them but our team is kind of up and down this year. It isn't a given at all, anyway yeah, its Friday!

I had some really good Ben and Jerry's ice cream last night though for supp....er.....after supper I mean:) It had brownies AND cookie dough!!!! Oh man................sorry.........was thinking about how good it was.

Have a great Friday everyone!!!!

Rain Every Night

I can't remember the last time we had rain like this every single night. The past four nights in a row.

It is nice but at the same time wow, it is a lot of rain! It does make me sleep really well though.

A fairly uneventful night, had supper at the pub and was unexpectedly joined by two co workers and one of their friends.

Tonight is a Storm game and one of the cast from the Fanfilm asked me to join him after that for a drink. He is in the new Gaslight production and tonight is their last dress rehearsal before opening so tonight is have a beer after the rehearsal night. Which seems like a lot of nights from my brief experiences:)

The Tuck Game

Yep I have uploaded the Tuck Game onto my Ipod now for work viewing. The full game. Even though it was a call that went against my team it was a great game and a snow game which made it great to watch!!!!

I also have The Drive game but I didn't upload that one. Yeah you know the one, Broncos vs. Browns? Elway vs. Kosar? Anyway I have a few games like that on my hard drive and they make excellent work viewing. My Ipod is really making being at work a joy lately! I don't dread going and just being there. It has enhanced my normally peppy/happy mood!!!!

Today should be a decent day but on the slow side but I don't care! To paraphrase the great song that Ricky Nelson and Dean Martin sang in Rio Bravo, As long as I have my vehicle, my Ipod, and Me!

What An Idiot

Yeah anyone who knows me knows I throw that term around fairly freely, especially when it fits. In this case it really fits.

This is a Paris Hilton sized idiot. Tom Sizemore has been arrested YET AGAIN for possession of drugs. I watched Shooting Sizemore, the Celebreality show on VH1 when it aired and wondered how this guy was still alive. He has done some Keith Richards quantities of drugs, he seems to have been trying pretty hard to get his life back together. He took a role in a C movie as a starting place.

He kept on whining about everything he has lost and how getting it all back is what he is after meanwhile he had meltdown after meltdown and tried the patience of everyone around him. I have to give them credit, they had the patience of a saint.

Now after being on three years probation he has been busted again. He was likely capable of regaining a portion of his fame and making up some lost ground if he had put any effort into it and now he should be prison bound.

To me this is on the same level as pro athletes resenting the fans, the people who buy the tickets to pay their salary. Sizemore had a good thing going but he had enough idiot in him to destroy all of it.

If I'm ever in the same position I would hope the people around me would care enough to keep me from being that kind of idiot.

All Loaded Up

My Ipod that is. All loaded up with over sixty gigs of boredom remover for work. It now has the entire series of Star Trek: Enterprise with the very hot Jolene Blalock. I really didn't catch this show when it first aired but kind of went with the conventional opinion that it sucked like everyone else was saying.

Well it is a very good show. It has really good storylines, well written, and good acting for a Trek show. I'm kind of surprised it didn't last a full seven season run like its siblings did. Anyway that and Dexter, Squidbillies, Robot Chicken, a couple of MST3K episodes will accompany me to work today. Very soon I'm going to start on the NFL games I happen to have stored on my hard drive and get them loaded as well.

I love technology.

Oh by the way it is raining AGAIN!!!! We have to be setting some kind of record for rain lately. That also means a slower than average day at work. If there is lightning that means that we aren't allowed to walk from building to building which means no hanger work.

Slow day? Bah! I laugh at you now!!!!
No more super boredom and pestering my friends with email:)
I'm sure they will appreciate that!

First Day With My Ipod Video At Work!!!!

I worked all weekend to put lots of content encoded and uploaded to my new shiny toy and what do you know? It rocked at work!!!!

It is plenty small enough to conceal when need be, big enough to get plenty of enjoyment out of the content on the screen. I could put it at arms length and easily see everything that was going on in a very well lighted environment. If it was darker it would have been better but as it was it was more than satisfying.

I watched two episodes of Dexter, not the beloved Cartoon Network toon but the series about a forensics investigator who is also a serial killer. It is pretty cutting edge as far as subject matter goes. It is witty, excellent writing, and so far a very good storyline that seems like it is going to span the entire season, which I have the whole thing loaded on my handy little gadget:)

What a wonderful time we live in!!!! I can only imagine what another twenty years will bring!!!!
So all in all I believe it is a more than worthy investment and will soon be loading content to help bring more creativity to my writing....as soon as I find out what that content is:)

Up Already

I went to bed last night just after midnight and here I am, up at 5ish. I know it is about ready to storm here, I just looked at the radar and a big line of severe thunderstorms are moving through here in about a half hour.

A small town in Kansas got wiped off the map yesterday from a line of storms like this. What a horrible tragedy. I live in Tornado Alley which has lots of tornadoes per year so it is always something you look out for and prepare for but it is devastating in just less than two minutes to lose everything you have. Your house can't even burn as fast as a tornado can destroy it, think about that.

I don't know, I just can't sleep right now. It is rough, I want more sleep. Five hours just isn't enough. So do I fix some coffee and just go with it or try to go back to bed? Oh to sleep or not to sleep, that is the question!

Eh, I went to a Cinco De Mayo party last night and most of the people there are Shakespeare and Gaslight people so there were a few Shakespeare discussions going on. There were lots of good conversations to join in on. It was a very fun time and I'm happy I went.

Well I feel pretty awake now so I guess I'm up, might as well go fix some coffee.

The Bonds/Hilton Debacle

It is almost a given unless someone pulls a Tonya Harding on Barry Bonds' bad knee that he will break Hammerin' Hank Aaron's home run record.

I think America speaks with one voice save San Francisco's isolated and out of touch voice that everyone is against this milestone being broken by such a pathetic individual. He never tested positive for steroids and yet there is a mountain of evidence in the Game of Shadows book that has around 230 individual people who point the finger and Bonds and others. So who is right? My money would be on the people who have nothing to gain by pointing the finger at Bonds.

So how will the sports world handle the eventual day when the record falls? Well you can pretty much guarantee that it will happen in San Francisco. Any other ball park in the US and you will have people booing, walking out, throwing things on the field, and heckling the ceremony. In San Francisco it might be a little bit better than that but that is the only place it can happen. Look for the manager to massage his playing time to make sure it happens at home.

You can bet that there is a security detail around Bonds, the most hated man in sports today, to protect him from some psycho who has ill intentions towards the man. It would not surprise me if there were many threats on him, his family, and maybe anyone around him.

The poor pitcher will be remembered as the person who gave up the record homer to a cheater and will be linked to this disgraceful act that the commissioner of baseball will be loathe to attend while Hank Aaron stays as far away as possible to protect his stellar reputation. Its as if Bonds has leprosy, ebola, and a really bad cold and you will catch it all if you get too close to him.

Paris Hilton is going to jail. Who didn't see this coming? The world's most infamous party girl gets forty five days behind bars to cool her heels for violating her probation. She showed up ten minutes late to her court appearance. Here is a tip....if you have the possibility of being sentenced to jail time, don't make the judge wait on you.

This clueless heiress is the epitome of the self centered generation. A generation where nothing happens that is worth caring about outside of their sphere of space. I have to say that I don't know anyone like that in my circle of friends. I'm kind of proud of that. Man I got some great friends!!!!

Spiderhhhmmmmmm........

Well it wasn't quite what I was expecting. For example there were THREE musical numbers.....in a Spiderman movie.......not exactly what I or anyone in the theater were expecting to say the least.

The parts I were expecting like the Venom storyline had just a few minutes of screen time in a two hour and twenty minute movie.

There was an extraordinary moment of cinematic beauty though in the creation of The Sandman. It was at the same time beautiful and heartbreaking. It was one of the best screen moments I have seen in recent times.

The pacing of the movie was very odd. When there was action, it was very fast and hard to keep up with. I felt like I was watching a disorientating and unorganized Star Wars starfighter scene. I found myself feeling bored through most of the movie while I enjoyed the first two movies immensely. This one seemed lackluster by comparison to the epic storytelling of the first two in the series.

Spiderman 3 Day!!!!

Yes my friends a long awaited day has finally arrived!!!!
Spiderman 3 has finally arrived in the theaters and I plan on seeing it today!!!!

I believe that the first showing is at 10 am this morning and I probably won't make that but there are plenty of showings today so I'm going!!!!

I don't make it to the theaters very often anymore, they just aren't as fun as Netflix and I don't have to deal with children kicking my seat from behind which has happened with Superman Returns.

Anyway, I've been having fun with my Ipod. I did find a pretty big glitch though. Itunes doesn't support Vista64 which I happen to have so I've been using my laptop which has XP on it to load up my new gadget. OH and I've been converting my video files into Ipod versions which can take a while.

Pretty Slow Week

At work.

I've usually been done with my work by 8:30ish in the morning leaving me scads of time to kill.
So what do you do when you have that kind of time and can't get on the net to keep yourself from going nutso AND want to conserve some of your vacation leave by not going home early?

Well I got a Ipod. It should be here today.

By August though our work load will at least double so that is a good thing. It is just rough right now because there is so little to do. So I plan on the Fanfilm project, go over the documentary in my mind and how to do the edits when we have an ending to it, think about movie projects, lots of things like that.

However I've been doing that for a long time now and just need a shinier diversion I guess. I had a PSP for a while and that was fun but got old fairly quickly since the game support at the time was limited.

So now it is Apple's turn to help with my low job satisfaction. I have done some research into how to convert your DVDs and put them on your Ipod so being able to take movies to work on a concealable device will be fun.

I'll let you know when the new wears off, hopefully it won't be before August.

No Blog Update Today

I just don't have much to say this morning. I slept kind of restless, had some funky dreams. One of them I really liked though! I wanted to make a pub that was better than my local beloved pub! That was a pretty nice dream!!!!

I had lots of plans for it, lots of plans that don't really come to mind now that I'm sitting here trying to tell everyone that I'm not going to have a blog post today. But it was a very nice place from what I do remember! A place my friends would love to come to and hang out with me. A place where even people who didn't like me would love to hang out at!

A place where everyone felt very comfortable and at home. Yep a really nice place.

Anyway I have to get on quickly now to tell you sorry, there will be no blog post today, sorry for the inconvenience.

Good Thing I Mowed

Anyone who knows me knows I don't really like mowing my yard. I haven't mowed since that big rain storm a couple of weeks ago but I mowed the front yard last night because it was getting out of hand, even for me.

Sunday I mowed the back yard so I usually break it up into a two day process but it is a good thing I did so. I woke up to rain this morning. That would make it just be outrageously out of hand. What a narrow escape that was!

In other news I'm trying a personal fun project and you at home can play along! I have offered to buy everyone lunch on an email list I'm a subscriber of with no strings attached at all. But if they feel the need to do something then I ask that they purchase lunch for two people randomly and as anonymously as possible. The goal? I'm not real sure what the actual goal is for me but quite a few people have taken me up on the offer so far and said they will return the favor.

I guess I want people to know that there is good out there and to cause a little surprise in someone's life. Give them something good to think about and maybe just maybe they might buy someone else lunch and pass it on. It is also a good way to get out of your own head and think about what other people might be going through that might not be as fortunate as you are, then your problems might not matter as much. The main thing that it is a guaranteed way to create a little happiness in your own life.

It isn't selfish to want to be happy. The pursuit of happiness is the third part of the Life and Liberty part of one of our founding documents remember? So do yourself a favor, buy lunch for two people randomly and anonymously as possible and see how you feel afterwards!
