Slow Day

The Date is working some very long hours today. Thing 2 is going to spend the afternoon with friends, go to the winter formal, and spend the night at one of her friend's house. Thing 1 is up in her room playing Xbox I believe.

As for me it's slow. Not a lot planned for today. It is a three day weekend though and that's always good.

Been watching Gold Rush on Discovery. Good show, really good. If you are the kind of person that can't catch a break, two bad things happen to every one good thing, or you are constantly battling to keep it together then this is your show.

I identify with the plight of these miners. They sunk everything they had into one lease and all of the equipment for three months of mining. They have really put themselves into a corner and in desperate straits in many ways.

There is no Plan B for these men, it's Plan A and that's it. They all face financial ruin should they fail to find any gold in this lease and in this limited amount of time. I really doubt if many people will follow in their footsteps either. This show is a first class example of how expensive things are and how much bad can happen to a group of dreamers.

I really hope they find gold. I hope they can find enough to pay for their investment. I hope they can find enough to stave off the pack of wolves at their doors.

Catch the show, it really is worth watching people still living the American Dream.
