It's here! The event that is synonymous with TV, eating, parties, and commercials is here! It's the event of events and will likely set viewing records world wide again this year.
Super long time readers will probably not recall my lamenting that regular folks never have their own personal super bowl as part of the work year. They don't have that one event that they work hard for all year long to cap it off.
It's sad that is the way it is but that's just life outside of sports. It's neither right nor wrong, it just is for 95% of us. We work, distract ourselves, work again, distract ourselves, and then back to work again.
It's days like this though that make us feel apart of something larger and fulfilling. That's one of our saving graces that we mark on the calendar and wait for during the year. Super Bowl Sunday!
The world watches with us, even though they might not have any idea what American football is, they watch and become part of something the world can get behind. For a couple of hours unrest will have to wait until the game ends. A few short hours of world peace and quiet.
Super Bowl Sunday.
