Eischen's

Yesterday was payday from Walmart so I thought we'd have some fun and drive to Eischen's bar. It's actually a restaurant that sells chicken and not much else. It was featured on Guy Fieri's show Diner's, Drive Ins, and Dives right here.

You buy whole chickens, chili, or sandwiches, massive amounts of okra, and as for sides they give you pickles (bread and butter) and onions and some bread. Drinks? Well you can have beer, pop, or water. Pop is served from a can and you pour it yourself.

It's an experience and it's really worth the drive. A short drive for us. It was packed on a Thursday night, I mean packed! We enjoyed the experience and food as it was a great break from our routine! I'm thinking we should do this every time I get paid from Walmart, so in two weeks we'll go to another restaurant out of town and have supper.

The food itself? Well the chicken had great flavor, it was moist, not dry. the okra was your standard deep friend breaded okra, I make better pickles but that's just my bias, they were fine:) Thirteen dollars for a whole chicken and everyone was stuffed driving home so it's reasonably priced. All in all a fun time and we as a family needed that so that makes it priceless:)
