Productive Weekend

Well sort of. I mowed my back yard. Gave the dog a bath. Had a really good day in Fantasy NASCAR and moved up to third in my league. Almost hit a three game parlay in baseball which paid 5-1. I got a lot of rest.

Pretty decent:)

I watched Celebrity Fit Club last night and yeppers, Screech IS crazy. He is very angry all the time and only wants people around him to be angry as well. He seems like he isn't happy unless he is angry and that isn't good enough so everyone that he is around has to be angry at him. What a weird dynamic.

It has been my experience that if you just be happy things go easier for you. A lot of people get wrapped up with "If I just had a new X then I'd be happy." You can put in job, car, home, bigger paycheck, all of that but if you are just happy to start with, well it might just come to you faster. You have everything right now inside you that will make you happy, which is your end result, isn't it? Well who is to say that you if you CHOOSE to be happy now then good things won't happen to you in a little while????

Heck just a couple of weird things happened to me this past weekend that got me out of a very small bind! I wasn't upset about it, I wasn't worried about it either.

I know I know, yeah it is kind of like Bobby McFerrin's song, but it really isn't. I know when I'm unhappy I tend to wind up with more unhappy things around me. When I'm happy for no reason I tend to get more breaks.

Screech is bitter and angry at who knows what but I find it actually pretty pathetic. He takes it out on everyone around him. He will wind up living a very tedious life I think.

I'm Hungry Now

I really don't feel like going out and getting some breakfast but I'm hungry. I think I can make toast but that is about all of the breakfast food I have in the house.

Somehow potato chips just don't appeal to me this morning. I do have some oreos but as appealing as they are I just don't feel like cookies for breakfast this morning. Not that I haven't had them before but I'm just not in the mood.

I guess I am probably going to make toast, I just don't feel like driving anywhere to get something. Is that lazy? It might be. I have laundry to do today, I should mow my yard sometime today, and I know that sometime today a friend is coming over to drink beer and pick up a power supply I sold him.

I want to get my twentieth You Tube project episode done today. My character is about to have some rough times ahead which I'm excited about.

I just picked up Lord of the Rings Online and started a new character Friday night. It is like WoW light. It has great graphics. It could use a better radar system and a few tweaks here and there but it is enjoyable to kill some time in. I just watched episode six and seven of The Shield last night as well. Only three episodes left this season.

Well I'm off to make toast....

Final Table

Yep, I made the final table and was the overall chip leader for a big portion of the game. I got crippled on a hand I got rivered on and limped to the final table.

The Storm won though!!!! We are now 3-1!!!!

There were some interesting draft picks today in the NFL draft. Brady Quinn fell farther than he expected but not as far as Merril Hoge predicted he would be a second round pick at best. I remember he was reamed on the radio for it. He said that a Brady Quinn comes along every year. That Quinn is average at best, hasn't stepped up in the big games, and has questionable accuracy. We'll see how he does in Cleveland.

Calvin Johnson was the top rated athlete in the draft. Someone like him comes around probably every ten years. Well Johnson went second overall and should do a lot for the Lions.

It was a good day my friends, a good day!!!!

DRAFT DAY!!!!

What a great day today is if you are an NFL fan!!!!
All of the questions of what your team is going to do, who are they going to take, will they be a star or a bust?!?!?!

If you want to be an NFL fan today is the perfect day to start learning as well, the analysts give you ALL of the information you could want about they teams, players, and what they think about the picks. If you are a college football fan then you get to see where your favorite players go and how they will fit in with their new team.

Then on my agenda I have a poker game to go to THEN a Storm game!!!! What a great day!!!!

2-0 At Home!!!!

Yep the Storm wins again, running away with it in the early second half!!!! However there were less people at this game than at Tuesday night's game. I don't get it.

This is a really good team and exciting to watch. Tickets are cheap. It is good entertainment and probably three hundred people are showing up. There are giveaways at the time outs and half time and they are giving away an ATV at the end of the year.

I really don't understand what is going on with attendance but it should at least be double than what it is.

Well it is Friday and those are always good days! This week has been pretty good though but I have a pretty strong sinus headache this morning and it is really bothering me. I took some medicine for it so hopefully it will lighten up quickly. OUCH!!!!

Storm Game Tonight!!!!

And then we have one Saturday night. This is a great time of year!!!!
Saturday is going to be very busy.

First there is the NFL draft, then at 3 a big poker game, and THEN a Storm game that night!!!!
Wooohoooo!!!! Going to be a good weekend all together:)

Today, well I'm sure today will be good but Saturday will be great! Tomorrow is payday so that is always good! I like paydays, not so much the candy bar but the actual day itself:)

Yeah, going to be really good:)

Next Week's The Shield

Through the magic of torrents I just saw NEXT WEEK'S The Shield episode!!!!

Man I love the net!!!!

I got last night's show because I missed it because of the Storm game and had to find it online. Well I found the latest one so I grabbed it, not paying attention to the episode number and when I watched it it seemed out of place. So I found an episode guide and found a description of last night's show and it didn't match either.

SO after a little bit more research I figured out it had aired in France and was actually next week's show!!!! So I got the real last night's show and next weeks!

What an incredible show, I know you probably get tired of me saying this but it is true. Very powerful, very dramatic, very intense. It is so character driven that I honestly can't tell you much about it without spoiling something so I just don't. It is tough because I want to write about everything that is going on and my opinions of it here but it would just be wrong to ruin it for you if you haven't seen it.

I also posted the nineteenth episode of my You Tube project. I'm starting to mess with my character's world a bit and just had him lose his job. You'll understand when I get to that point where I can release it to you, my friends:)

IT'S STORM SEASON!!!!

Yes, my beloved Storm is playing again now and we opened the home schedule with a win last night!!!!

This year we feature a stifling defense that shuts down scoring but our offense isn't on track yet. We won though and we have probably one of our tallest teams ever. We have a guy that is 7'1, 6'11, and Mario Woodson who is 6'10 who returns from last year's team.

Yep we have size and depth off the bench! We should tear up the league this year after our offense comes around and the guys gel together a bit!!!!

This is one of the genuine pleasures I have in life and I haven't missed a game in a very long time. This is the seventh season, the house was reasonably packed, about half full. I wish more people would come to the games. It is very good entertainment at a reasonable price.

Over the course of the season you get to know your players and experience their ups and downs. You just get to love the game vicariously since I know I can't play at that level, heck I wasn't even a basketball player in high school but I love watching the Storm play!

Go Storm!!!!

Ultimate Fanfilm!!!!

The Sopranos these past three episodes well they have actually been decent.
I've just been disappointed by this show so many times that I am not getting my hopes up that it will have a satisfying end to it.

Now The Shield on the other hand has never disappointed me. What an incredible show!!!! Still the best show on TV on ANY network!!!!

Oh what I would give to see Vic and the Strike Team have to take on Tony and his Family!!!!
THAT would be the stuff of a fanfilmaker's dream!!!!

It would be very difficult to find actors that resemble the characters though because that is what would make it half way believable, otherwise it would be a dismal failure. Tony looks a certain way, Vic looks a certain way, Paulie looks a certain way and so does Shane.

Writing something like that would also be difficult but a good two hours of drama and shootouts!
I can dream so don't jostle me.

Charm School

A long time ago I was in my late teens and doing my first cussing experiments when I read a quote, heard a quote, something that is paraphrased like this, "When you swear it is a lazy mind attempting to express itself".

That had a real effect on me and anyone who knows me knows I don't and that is the reason why. You are taken more seriously not only that but when the occasion arises you instantly start thinking of what to say.

I say this because on Charm School I noticed a pretty big trend, EVERYONE on the show swears a lot and it just makes them come across as very classless. Now that is what they are attempting to overcome and yet it is bleep bleep bleep after bleep!!!! I find it hilarious!

Last night a girl hid another girl's dress, lied her way into presenting a product, but got her reward in the end when she was supposed to pull a sheet off of a new line of products that are for some very serious investors and she completely messed it up when the sheet pulled the display over!!!! She was pretty much disgraced at the end and it felt satisfying to watch:)

Yeah if the world ever goes Mad Max I don't think I'll have much of a problem with idiots like that running around as they are quickly ushered out of the gene pool.

A Great Relaxing Sunday

Settling in right now and really trying to relax.

I went to the store and got some groceries, I plan on watching the NBA playoffs, Dice K pitches versus the Yankees tonight, and I just posted my eighteenth episode of the You Tube project. Yes eighteenth!!!! I really feel good about it but I know I am going to have to advance the story a bit more and soon.

It is starting to become kind of flat but the viewers continue to climb!!!!

Wow what a great day!!!!

Coffeehouse Poetry And First Full Cast Read Through

This past Thursday and last night the theater held Coffeehouse Poetry night at the little theater. It was good, entertaining, and a nice way to spend an evening. There were sponsors who donated food and drink. Live music, and local poets.

I am looking forward to the fourth annual next year!

Even better than that though was the first full cast read through of the fanfilm script. With a living room full of people we read through the whole script and everyone is starting to get familiar with their characters.

We followed that by a discussion about lessons learned from previous projects and how to improve the local filmmaking process. It was very constructive and everyone was able to voice concerns about rehearsing, being prepared and comfortable with their characters, and even actors new to acting and film got into the conversation but didn't know what to expect. So they were comforted that they will be prepared.

Props were discussed. shooting days, shooting schedule, and lots of post production discussion in regard to editing suites and filter use. It was a great day, until I got home and got the sad news that a Blue Angel had crashed at an air show and the pilot was killed.

It just shows that even the most routine days aren't that routine when it comes to the jobs that these brave men do.

How Dumb Is This?

Yesterday in Denver about four hundred pot smokers gathered around the capitol building for national pot smoking day or something like that.

They all decided to go to a area where there is heavy security.
They all decided to light up at the same time IN a heavily secured area.
They all decided to do this for some reason that just escapes me.
Naturally they were all arrested at the same time since they let their plans be known to the public.

My friends if this isn't the best reason not to smoke pot, I don't know what is. There were some crucial brain cells that just didn't function anymore which normally would tell a thinking person not to do an illegal activity on the state capitol's lawn. That you might be arrested for it and face charges.

Now when they were in the tank they didn't even have anyway to deal with their munchies.

Captain Insaneo Buys A Harley....Sort Of

As funny as MST3K is to me it is nothing compared to Captain Insaneo's latest escapade. Since last Fall he has done nothing except talk about buying a brand new Harley Sportster. I mean NOTHING but talk about it....every night the same thing....endless stories about it.

So finally early this year he ordered it and it had a three month wait. So in the mean time (he hates waiting and makes many visits to the dealership which is at least seventy miles away for t-shirts and hats) he talked his son, Junior Insaneo, who hasn't ridden a motorcycle and didn't have a license and only a part time job into buying one as well.

This is a seven thousand dollar plus bike. Well only having a part time job he didn't qualify so his girlfriend stepped up to the plate, got approved, and signed the papers.

Captain Insaneo had to ride it home since Junior didn't have a license and no experience on a bike as I stated. So they bring it home that afternoon. The Captain comes to work with pictures of Junior Insaneo sitting on the bike, pictures of The Captain sitting on the bike, and pictures of Junior video taping the bike sitting by itself, yes I tell you the truth.

So while Captain Insaneo is at work, Junior decides to take his brand new bike out on the street and practice, he only lays the brand new bike over three times before deciding he doesn't have enough experience to ride it.

That weekend Captain Insaneo decides that Junior probably doesn't have the skills yet so he takes an old Honda and takes it and Junior to a big parking lot to practice. A couple of hours later Junior decides he can probably handle the bigger bike so they retrieve it and he practices. They get out on a busy street with The Captain on the back and Junior nearly dumps them both off of the bike and almost crashes it which prompted the decision to trade the brand new bike, his girlfriend's car, and some cash for a 1999 Jeep Cherokee that needed the heater core replaced.

So almost a month later Captain Insaneo's brand new bike arrives at the dealership and The Captain can talk of nothing else but his bike while being VERY quiet about his son's bike. That story was relayed to another co-worker by the son directly.

So The Captain picks up his bike and rides it back home while ordering two thousand dollars worth of accessories to go with it. This was about two weeks ago and we get non stop pictures of the bike with nearly every family member sitting on the bike from every angle possible. Monday he tells us that the forks keep on bottoming out when he goes over small bumps in the road and he needs to put some heavier fork oil in them to prevent this as per the recommended fix of the dealership.

They will do it but of course it will cost a lot....so this leads to the logical choice....you guessed it, he is going to take it to the same car lot and put it for sale and buy a much bigger bike.

An eighteen thousand dollar bike. It seems that the dealership doesn't take trade ins at all but are only too happy to sell him the bigger bike and have placed his name on said bike.

The Funniest Movie Experience Ever

Just has to be Prince of Space! Without a doubt, hands down the clear winner!

What? You have never heard of this Japanese made scifi adventure? Let me 'splain. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a huge MST3K fan (look it up if you are unfamiliar) and over the past few years I've been able to find and save to my hard drive every episode from every season save some of the local cable shows where it started out.

Now fast forward to season eight. Mike Nelson has been in charge of the bots for quite some time now and has a show come up that just begs to be MST3K'd. Prince of Space! This movie is the perfect melding of material, riffing, film, and commercial segments.

It has some of the best quoted lines and really the most fun of any of the MST3K'd movies. Every single line was on and worked. It seemed so effortless to create this episode which is one of the true marks of comedy or anything difficult to do. Michael Jordan made it seem that anyone could fly and Mike Nelson makes it seem that anyone can do comedy and do it well.

A close second place would be season ten's Bloodwaters of Dr. Z. What a very funny episode! The monster is so unimposing and pathetic it just makes it a joy to watch! The jokes are good fun and everything works well!

I know there is a big debate about who is better, Joel or Mike. They are both great in different ways, it just happens that two of my favorite episodes are Mike episodes. If I were going to introduce someone to MST3K it would be one of these two episodes.

My Shoe Is Killing Me

I usually get shoes with the air pocket in the sole but I think I have a slow leak in the left shoe. It is causing all kinds of soreness in my back after I've worn it for a couple of hours.

I think I'm going to have to go get another pair. This pair is only about six to eight weeks old though. I've walked around barefooted all last night and this morning and I feel great but I know once I get to work and walk around some it is going to start hurting me like it has the past two days.

I'm looking forward to Saturday, that is the first cast read through for the fanfilm project. This is going to be huge, I can't really relay to you how big it is going to be and I really don't think some of the cast know how big it is going to be yet until it is finally edited together.

Right now the costumes are being made so it is read through and rehearsal time. I can't wait start the actual shooting of this one!!!! It is going to be spectacular!!!!

It Would Seem That Screech Is Psychotic

Some people just can't handle a lack of fame once they have had a taste of it. Take Screech for instance. Yeah that Screech from Saved By The Bell, a show I avoided like the plague.

He is one of the new contestants on Fit Club on VH1 and had a shouting match with one of the other contestants which got him banned from further contact with any of them apparently. Just do a search, you'll see what I'm talking about.

So do they actually give these celebrities, I use the term very loosely here, any kind of emotional stability test or do they use the Springer producers and try to find the most unstable cele....I just can't say it, people out there and book them?

I hate to say it but this might actually make me want to watch the show now!

I did watch a bit of Charm School, a show where the girls that were rejected from Flavor of Love are put kind of into a boot camp situation. They are supposed to be taught manners and such. Something that these idiots need though are some IQ pills.

They are so wrapped up in themselves that they can't see anything beyond their own nose. So self centered that it you want to see some selfless beat into them....which is probably why I might start watching that one....

So unstable former famous people and self centered idiots.....does it get better????

Brand New Week!!!!

Well I made the sixteenth episode of my You Tube project last night. It is going pretty well. Viewership is starting to increase! That is nice!

Had some weird dreams last night but they are all gone now. Odd why that happens.

Sopranos was decent last night. It is getting better after the horrible last part. I am not getting my hopes up because I've been burned before by this show. When you expect something good it gives you garbage.

What a frustrating show....

The Grindhouse Experience

Last night was spent at a double feature that honestly captured the feel of double features that I went to as a kid walking to the Esquire Theater which was about six blocks from home.

Grindhouse is the new brainchild of filmmakers Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarrantino. They decided to take lots of money and make movies that look like it cost about $45 bucks, complete with made up trailers and film damage.

First up is Planet Terror which borrowed a LOT from Day of the Dead, the zombie movie that took place in a military complex. Tom Savini even had a bit player role! So anyway a chemical weapon that makes zombies is released, Rose McGowan looses a leg, and the story really never lets down. It was somewhat gory but it was very comical. It really didn't have the blood that looked like real blood in today's cinema, it was the cheap and very fake looking blood and hundreds of gallons were used.

Second up was the intermission, yep a real intermission. The lights went up for a couple of minutes then some fake trailers started. Rob Zombie directed the first one which was a take off of Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS about the Nazi experiment to create werewolf women in World War II.

Then Don't....the movie called Don't which was directed by Edgar Wright of Shaun of the Dead fame. This was a haunted house movie that seemed to have some of the old Roger Corman/Vincent Price movies mixed in.

Third up was Eli Roth's Thanksgiving which was inspired by movies such as My Bloody Valentine, Prom Night, Terror Train, Happy Birthday To Me, and movies of the like. Lots of teenage nudity, decapitations, and a big celebration day tie in. This was the funniest trailer and for anyone who saw any one of these movies you would immediately get the joke. No I'm not a Eli Roth fan at all and his movie Hostel....well you will probably recall my review of that movie.

Then Death Proof was the second feature. Directed by Tarrantino and is a take off of a 70's car movie. It had a great car chase, no nudity and very limited amounts of blood and gore. It featured the trademark Tarrantino banter and a great car chase. What kind of took me out of the movie was the blending of a early 70's movie feel being set in 2007. That was kind of a problem while Beersnob pointed out the inaccuracies of the car that was used. To me it wasn't so much that as it was when was the movie supposed to take place? Some people had hair styles that seemed to come from 1977 while using state of the art cell phones. You can pretty much see the movie trailer and see the plot but it was enjoyable and a fun ride.

The jumpy and scratched film, cheap sounding soundtrack, and gratuitous violence and nudity are what this film was about. Recreating the experience of a cheap, run down theater that played low or no budget movies all the time.

Heck there was even a guy five seats down and to my right that kept talking to himself during the movie. I LOOKED, he was all by himself....talking to NO ONE while I had the trusty movie going companion Beersnob to my left!!!!

There was a part where the film melted, missing reels, damaged film, intentional editing mistakes all of that combined with some very big budgets to RECREATE a low budget movie!

I can just imagine Tarrantino and Rodriguez sitting with the footage and trying to recall movies from their past to see how to take this footage and damage it enough to make their movie like the movies that existed in their memories. See the irony here?

I guess that is part of the feel of what they were going for and probably have a whole lot of ideas for cheap looking but in reality expensive movies to make. I enjoyed the concept of both movies and think the idea is genius but for some reason the execution was a bit off. The practicality of the project just didn't cross over to reality in today's movie going world.

Grindhouse was played one time per day at the theater we saw it in, the length alone topped three hours and I can see this double feature doing much much better with the home theater audience.

Enjoyable but only for a limited audience who actually experienced theaters before they became multiplexes and get the jokes and references that are all over the place on screen.

Well When In Rome

I had a big evening planned last night with either a walk downtown with friends where there were many live bands playing, a movie, or helping a dear friend with her PC.

Well with the heavy storms I did none of the above and watched Rome Season 2 instead. Rome is a pretty good series. It follows the exploits of several characters that lead up to the assassination of Julius Cesar and the after math. There is lots of character development, very high production values, plenty of T&A and violence. Pretty much everything you could ask for in a series for adults.
You could say it is Deadwood set in Rome, I'd say that....well I guess I just did!

No there really is no Al Swearengen character but that doesn't matter so much since all of the characters are interesting and can carry the story on their own. I love Deadwood because Swearengen just chews up every scene he is in! He makes me want to watch to see what that character is going to do next.

As I look out my window this morning I see ditches full of water. I can't recall the last time we got so much rain. Over the last month and a half we have gotten lots and lots! I do recall a time when I was in high school that it rained about two weeks straight. Every day was overcast and rainy. It soaked everything and it lasted!

I posted my fifteenth episode last night for the You Tube project. Views keep going up and I haven't posted the link for any of my friends to see yet so all of the views are from strangers, that makes me very happy!

For Real?!?!?!

Today I saw something I thought I saw once before but didn't really get but I did see them again!

Two guys have been driving around in a Camaro. Not that there is anything unique about that but these two are quite a bit different hence my blogging about it. They are in full ICP face paint and have ICP logos on their Camaro.

ICP....Insane Clown Posse. Yeah just look them up and you will see how ridiculous these idiots look. They have the full make up and hair color, just tooling around town seemingly without aim. It isn't that I'm against individuality or freedom of expression in any way but these idiots....well....it is wholly a different matter. At the very least be original! Start your own outlaw posse, you rebels you.

When I saw them the first time I thought I saw what I saw but I wasn't for sure but I did laugh quite a bit but that was no match for the laugh I had when I saw them today! Now that was a hearty belly laugh!!!!

Sometimes I love this place!

It Is Raining Again!!!!

Not only that but tonight is a big BBQ contest that is sanctioned by the big governing body so it is worth a lot of money to the winner. There are supposed to be several live bands around the down town area that Beersnob wants to walk through.

It should be a decent night but it looks like it will be raining and chilly most of the evening. I know about the contest because one of my co-workers has entered into it and has today off so he can prepare. He is a pretty good smoker. I think he might have a chance to place tonight/tomorrow.

Anyway everything is going pretty well right now! Hope your weekend is twice as good:)

Drinks With Sass

Yeppers my friends I was out until nearly eleven last night having drinks with Sass on My Space. I'll be honest with you all, I needed to get out. Not having anything to do after the play was over was killing me.

Yes I'm working on the You Tube project but that is in the house and it takes just about fifteen minutes to create an episode so that still leaves me with a lot of free time! I needed to get out and enjoy some good company and a little tequila. So we went to the pub and knocked back a few, talked and had a grand time!

It was a great evening and I'm happy someone took the time to have drinks with me:) We had a very nice conversation that spanned nearly four hours, covering a variety of subjects and topics, even the possible resurrection of Drinkbusters. Now that is something I would look forward to! I loved doing that show!

Terrel Owens Works Our Night Shift!!!!

That is absolutely correct! TO works on our night shift! His attitude destroys everyone else's around him and he slows production way down because of his underwhelming performance on a constant basis.

Just the presence of him is enough to take two people who used to go lights out all night and finish whatever was given to them to do now takes at least three nights.

TO lives and he works on our night shift. He used to work on our day shift and production was taken to a stand still because every few minutes he would get a phone call and he would NEVER answer the phone first. He would let it ring as long as it took for someone else to answer it and the phone call was nearly 100% FOR HIM. At least in those days our night shift was productive and busy. If they had five jobs they would attack them and get them all done. Now if they have three jobs one would be started and two would remain untouched.

This is the former "Inc." I speak of, I now dub him TO. He would come up with hairbrained schemes to quit working there and works his own body shop business during the day and a salvage yard. Now he shows up four nights per week and when he isn't there our night shift personnel are busy once again and do a decent job at getting what needs to be done done.

Now here is the real problem, I still don't want him back on days, ever. I'd rather have to finish my work and the night shifts' work than have him come back to days and ruin my happy mood and my generally positive attitude. He is just a pain to be around and emits this vibe of discontent. Even now being on separate shifts he still has a reach on him to bring disorder to another shift. The people who depend on us to get our jobs finished in the time allotted are usually mad at us on days when the job isn't done and they needed it done the night before. We can't help it, we weren't even there. He is union as we all are and therefor has solid protection against getting in trouble.

I have no doubt that a small part of my happy mood recently is owed to him being on nights and not on my shift. So I'm grateful for that.

The Sopranos Return

For the last round.

Alright the only reason I'm watching this last "season" of the show is because I have seen every episode so far and have some time invested into the show. The last couple of seasons have been very mixed at best. Uneven, more bad than good, and still have story lines that go no where.

The absolute worst was the first half of this season. If you have seen in you know what I'm talking about. Just bad.

Janice is the most hated character on TV, well at least she provokes a reaction. She is just someone who makes me want to shoot her, thinning the herd. Yeah Yeah I know this is a fictional show but for a show that started out so good and has gotten so bad.

Has me shaking my head at all the talent that goes into making this show they couldn't come up with a few interesting story lines that they can maintain and NOT FORGET!!!!

Well I'm going to finish watching the show if anything interesting happens I'll post it....if I don't forget a major plot point.

Well I've also filmed the fourteenth episode of my You Tube project. It should be live very soon!
I'm really enjoying it very much!!!!

RiffTrax Roxx!!!!

For any of you out there who are MST3K fans you should check out RiffTrax.

They are downloadable commentary tracks like you would have on a DVD with Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and sometimes Bill Corbett doing the same kind of commentary that made MST3K so fun! They do modern movies such as The Matrix, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars episode I and II.

Episode II even has Chad Vader as a commentator!!!!

They are a blast to listen to, lots of fun!!!! It really brings back the MST3K experience and I miss that.

I Looked At It

Most of yesterday. The signed picture the cast gave me.
It really is special and it makes me feel pretty darn good!

I find myself hoping that someone asks me again to do this again. It is a strange feeling now, not having something to do every single evening.

With the extra free time I will be able to increase my You Tube project's production schedule though, I might bump up the episodes to every two days instead of three. I could actually post every night if I felt like it. It is very simple to do and I've got the process down cold!

I filmed and posted my thirteenth episode last night. The next month will have some ups and downs for this character. He is searching, that is the best way to put it I guess.

Happy Easter!!!!

Well it is Easter 2007. Hope you all have a good day today!

The shows' run closed last night. The audience was the best and youngest ever. They laughed at the right times and enjoyed the show a lot! It was probably the biggest audience of the four show run as well.

Everyone really was a joy to work with and around. I'm happy they asked me! Catina gave me a signed picture from the show that she had the cast sign:) That made me feel great!!!!

I've just brewed a small pot of coffee and some toast for breakfast. It is a good morning and its going to be a bright sun shiny day!!!!

What A Great Day!!!!

Now anyone who knows me knows I keep my birthday secret but I overlooked one thing.

My Space.
Yeah, you put it in and everyone on your list knows it after that. So I got the mom/dad call during the day at work and one of my fantasy football buds came over after work and had a couple of beers and visited until I had to go to the theater to start the next show.

We had a good show although I forgot to clear the table during one scene. Anyway after the show Sass came up to me and we headed to the pub and she bought me a drink! That was real nice! We had a great talk since I hadn't seen her in a few weeks! Then I headed to the cast party. So I walk in and everyone starts singing the song!!!! Amazing!!!! It really took me by surprise!!!! The cast had gotten me a card and all!!!!

It nearly choked me up!

What a great day!!!!

The Remaining Two

Shows are tonight!
I'm pretty excited to get back behind the stage after this time off and get it rolling again!

This has been really fun and a good experience. It has also made me wonder why more people aren't involved with the theater. I know that a lot of times they have a hard time getting people to audition for the available shows.

I know I blogged this during the last show I was filming. So then I asked questions about the theater and the audience and now I am proposing a solution.

To get more people to audition first: The theater would be smart if it took a one act play and took it to area schools as a recruiting method for teens to get involved with the Gaslight. Now if they did the shows in the evenings then they could attract adults as well. If they left behind schedules for auditions and such I am sure that interest would surely go up.

The Gaslight should offer acting classes: I know there are several people who are regular actors who have had training and could easily teach. This is a small town and acting classes aren't readily available and the idea of being on stage without being able to have the confidence that an acting class brings with it could be intimidating thus limiting your actor pool. This would grow and nurture your acting pool and that brings with it new people and increases your audience.

Get the word about auditions out sooner: There are a lot of people who don't even know there is a live theater in this town. A season long audition sheet that is posted up around town would be a good thing. The shows are set in advance, why can't the auditions?

These are just a few thoughts from my experience of the last two shows and the problems I've heard about.

Well have a great Friday and a better weekend!!!!

Pretty Good

DiceK fanned 10 in his first outing versus the Royals.

That is pretty good even though he gave up one homer.

So during my extra time off today I took a nap, listened to the game and filmed the twelfth episode of my You Tube project. My character's new vice is fulfilling him with some satisfaction and purpose but for how long?
We'll see, I'm guessing about a month;)

Tomorrow the show starts back up for its final two performances. I'm having fun with it as I've blogged about already. I'm glad that I started the You Tube project though so I'll have something to fill the gap the stage managing leaves until full swing production starts in the Fanfilm project.

Everything has been so much fun for the past few weeks! I'm loving it!

Dice K

Ok so I decide to take off a half day today because for one I have everything at work more than caught up and two Daisuke Matsuzaka is making his debut today.

Now those of you who know me know that I haven't followed baseball since the strike year. So what is it about this guy that makes me want to take off half a day and come home to catch a game?

This is interesting. You have a team that paid up around fifty million dollars just for the right to talk to this guy! And then they signed him to just over one hundred million dollars on TOP of the talk money!

So what does the Boston Red Sox get for one hundred fifty million dollars? Well that is what I want to see. So I'm home, had two sandwiches and now I have two cats on my lap while I listen to the game on my PC.

We'll see:)

What Do You Get When

You have a over indulged rock star who is mega rich and has probably been dead for nearly twenty years but doesn't know it yet who has had many many problems with drugs and a dead father?

Yeah Keith Richards who claims he mixed the ashes of his dead father with some blow and snorted it....

Oh the humanity of it all. I felt like taking a shower after reading the tag line of the article let alone the whole thing!

What a freak. No....it goes way beyond that. How is this guy even human?

Well the best show on TV for the last few years kicked off last night again. The Shield! Vic is back and so is the strike team. No spoilers. The last season was the best season, the premier of this season was incredible!

This is the premier show on TV, it really is. It has everything, love the shooting style and rough editing. Normally I'm more of a traditionalist with those things but the content drives the style in this case. It is complimentary.

Sometimes you want to like Vic and sometimes you want to hate him. Is he an antihero? Maybe so. I think that Vic appeals to the people who deep down inside want to be the bad guy who has good intentions. He is a good guy, one of the best but he is also a bad guy who crosses the line at will.

Florida Won I Think I Lost

I don't think I won the pool, I had two sheets that had Florida winning but I didn't have as many points on those as I did with the sheet that had Ohio State winning. That's alright, I can't win all the time, I'd settle for a high 50% or low 60%!!!!

Oh well, I'm sure that next season I'll clean up!!!!

Anyway, I came home and mowed. That really tired me out so then I filmed the eleventh episode of the You Tube project. Being tired helped that a lot! I've started my character on a new path, it is down the same road but just a new way to get to the same point.

It is getting warm out now. Feels good too!

Well it is DVD Tuesday and I don't think there is much of anything out today. I sent in all my Netflix movies at once, I am thinking I should have staggered them so three movies don't come back at the same time.

Monday

And I am off tonight after nearly two full weeks of rehearsals.

I will probably have to mow when I get home since the ground was still pretty muddy yesterday. By then I'll be able to get all cleaned up to watch the National Championship game and root for whoever I need to root for to win the pool!

I might film an 11th episode tonight, I'll do it by tomorrow night for sure but if I can come up with something good tonight I'll put it up. I'm about ready to put the guy into another vice, something that he will feel fulfilled for a short while until the new wears off and he is left cold again.

You'll get it once you see it and I put it out there for my friends.

Well I'm off to work now, have a wonderful day if I don't tell you that in person and I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, I know I did!!!!

Sherrybaby, The Bicycle Thief With Happy Feet!

I hit a triple today. I cleared all three Netflix movies. Happy Feet, The Bicycle Thief, and Sherrybaby.

All that while doing laundry and catching up on my rest and grocery shopping!

Alright Happy Feet is about penguins. It has probably some of the best animation I've seen in a CGI movie ever. Simply amazing! It has a lot of voice talent in it like Hugh Jackman and Elijah Wood. A mild message about conservation at the end where humans are evil and all that but an enjoyable experience!

Second up was The Bicycle Thief. Set in post war Italy. It is simply about desperation. Jobs are very hard to come by and when our protagonist is offered a job while many are unemployeed. Well a bicycle is required and our heroes' bicycle is in the pawn shop. It is his ticket to feed his family so they pawn their sheets to get the bike out.

On the first day of the job his bike is stolen and so he and his son start a very desperate search all over town to retrieve it.

Third was Sherrybaby. Another desperate story about a woman played by Maggie Gyllenhaal who is fresh out of prison who tries to start all over again. She starts at a halfway house and goes to see her brother and sister in law who have been caring for her daughter while she was away. They have pretty much taken over the parenting role which leaves her out in the cold.

The second two movies don't really fit my mood lately but they were in my queue.
Happy Feet was the best of the three and made me laugh:)

Now I'm Off

From the play until Wednesday and even then I don't think I need to show up but I plan on showing up anyway. Went to a get together last night after the production and got back home around 1 A.M.

The fanfilm trailer went very well....after a few takes. We had a problem with a dirty head on the XL2 camera so when we played back the tape it wasn't watchable. However when we put the tape into my camera and captured it, it worked fine.

Took us a bit to track down the problem but we did and still finished up under three hours. If we didn't have that problem which involved me driving across town to get my cam then we would have knocked it out of the park in under one.

Chianti and Orin were the only actors we worked with yesterday and they were a dream to work with. Very photogenic (I know she would kill me if she ever read this but I think Chianti has been working out, she looked fantastic), want to be directed, do more than you ask of them, and have a good time with it! What more could you ask for?

This is going to be so much fun with these two and that is going to make this project the best this town has had to date! I believe everyone involved with this project and there are many, will be very proud! I'm not just bragging on Chianti and Orin, the entire cast is probably the best that has been assembled in this town for any project! If you don't believe me then just wait for the finished product. It is going to be spectacular!!!!

Well a little bit of Big Dance news I have Florida winning one bracket and I have Ohio State winning the other. The bad thing is that I don't have them playing each other. I think I can win IF Ohio State wins tomorrow night but we'll see. I have the most points on that bracket.

Courtney Friel is on Fox and Friends this morning. She is doing a pretty good job. Bubbly would sum it up I guess. I miss Kiran Chetry though....hey look at this, it looks like it is a pretty nice day out in Iran for their latest Death To America rally....sigh....nutjobs.

I might be able to knock out a Netflix movie today, maybe two if I try really hard! Surreal Life is over with so there isn't much on tonight to watch.
