Coffeehouse Poetry And First Full Cast Read Through

This past Thursday and last night the theater held Coffeehouse Poetry night at the little theater. It was good, entertaining, and a nice way to spend an evening. There were sponsors who donated food and drink. Live music, and local poets.

I am looking forward to the fourth annual next year!

Even better than that though was the first full cast read through of the fanfilm script. With a living room full of people we read through the whole script and everyone is starting to get familiar with their characters.

We followed that by a discussion about lessons learned from previous projects and how to improve the local filmmaking process. It was very constructive and everyone was able to voice concerns about rehearsing, being prepared and comfortable with their characters, and even actors new to acting and film got into the conversation but didn't know what to expect. So they were comforted that they will be prepared.

Props were discussed. shooting days, shooting schedule, and lots of post production discussion in regard to editing suites and filter use. It was a great day, until I got home and got the sad news that a Blue Angel had crashed at an air show and the pilot was killed.

It just shows that even the most routine days aren't that routine when it comes to the jobs that these brave men do.
